IT Facilities

All bedrooms and studios are equipped with a high-speed network connection. In addition, Bruce Hall's resident IT Assistants help maintain an ANU computer lab at the Hall that is equipped with both Macs and PCs as well as a printer. You can request IT assistance through the Hall's IT help desk, from our intranet Dragonlair. All access to ANU sites, such as websites, library catalogues, online systems and public downloads are free of charge. Access to non-ANU sites are charged at 7c/MB. Most of the common areas of the Hall are covered by wireless access points, allowing residents to study or use the network outside their study/bed rooms.

Telephones

A PABX telephone is installed in each room. This system provides each resident with a personal answering machine facility. Residents can also make internal and on-campus calls at no charge. To safeguard against misuse, residents are provided with a PIN to protect their phone and a security number to protect their answering system. Information sheets regarding the operation of the telephones will be supplied upon arrival at the Hall and a telephone listing will be published early in the year.

Fax

You can receive faxes at the Hall. The number is +61-2-6125 6010. The fax machine is located in the Front office. Outgoing faxes can only be sent during office hours. There is a Charge involved for faxes sent within Australia and internationally.

Mail

Incoming mail is placed in the mail boxes in the Central Amenities building. Parcels, large envelopes, letters marked personal or private and registered mail are held at the front Office for collection.

Postage stamps (within Australia) are available from the Front Office. There is also a Post Office in the Union Building. Arrangements can be made with the Student Services Officer to forward or hold mail over the summer holidays and for up to 3 months after departure from Hall.
