Bathrooms

There is a toilet and shower block on each floor. Female and male residents share these facilities.

Laundries

Laundry facilities are available in Packard, North and West wings. The washing machines and dryers are not coin operated as use of the laundries is included in your weekly tariff.

Central Heating

All rooms are centrally heated by the energy saving valence-heating system. Heating is normally switched on as soon as it begins to get cold (about April), and switched off when it gets warmer (November).

Maintenance

The Hall employs maintenance staff to take care of maintenance issues. Maintenance problems are reported on the Maintenance log from the Bruce Hall intranet 'Dragonlair'.

Vacuum cleaners

Vacuum cleaners are available on request for one hour from your floor Senior Resident. House keeping also provide a service of vacuuming your room once a week in the catered wings.

Bicycles

Bike stations and a bike shed are located at several places around the Hall for residents owning bicycles.

Parking at Bruce Hall

Resident parking is available. If residents intend to park a motor vehicle at Bruce Hall or on the University campus you must purchase a University Parking Permit. After obtaining the permit, it must be presented at the Front Office where you will be issued a Resident Parking Permit. This allows you to park in the 'Bruce Hall only' area. Occasional Temporary Parking permits are available from the Front Office for residents for a period of 10 days only.
